I am trying to access a web site where my niece has put on videos of her daughter. I can't hear the sound. I have windows media player on here but the site has asked for adobe flash player. I have windows 7 and jaws 13. The other question: I want to back up my system image. I tried typing it into the search box but that item doesn't come up always. How do I get to that item easily? I went into windows explorer but can't find that item. Any help is appreciated. I have already backed up my computer files and settings.

Hi,

I'm not sure about the answer to your second question, but as for Flash player, you may have to download the latest version. If the site you're trying to view doesn't provide a link to the download, you'll need to go directly to the Flash site. When I first began downloading the most recent versions of Flash, I had a lot of trouble getting the download to finish. It was actually someone on here who told me that during the process, a dialogue box that JAWS won't read pops up, asking if you want to run the installation software. So when you're downloading the program and it seems to have stopped working, hit alt n to make the dialogue box pop up, and you'll be able to finish the install.

Another completely accessible and much easier way to make sure your flash player is up to date is to go to updateflash.org. It has a much simpler installer and it can even install multiple programs at once. I just made the discovery that their website even has a list of screen-reader friendly programs that you can install. It even updated NVDA for me.

Wow the site you suggested is the most easiest update software site I've ever used. I love it. Thanks so much for this!

Flash player is actually easy to install from Adobe. Just use your control T to get to the installer. You'll hear a button and a Q button hit inter on the button. Wait than check until you hear the I button hit inter on that than again you'll hear the I button hit inter on that. Soon it will tell you its finished.
Now to get to the backup utilities on Windows 7.
In the search box on the start simply type backup and restore. You'll hear it say so, so hit inter.
Now there you shift tab up to create a system image.
For gbest results on this use a DVD not a CD.
Most times is you are typing backup and restore it will get there before you have finished typing, so you can safely hit inter when it states so.

Also I'd like to say that Windows key plus T takes you to your running applications, so you can hit Windows T and go through windows or just hit it once and use your right and left arrow keys.
This means if you can't find a window check here and you'll find it. Press inter when you do.

I am able to do what I need to do now thanks to you folks. Still am having trouble unsubscribing from a yahoo group, women talk to be exact. Tried to use the unsubscribe link and it says there is no program associated with that. I use windows live mail and can't send the unsubscribe message because I have no contact by that name I'm told. There seems to be no way to contact yahoo directly either. Any suggestions?
